SPACE, COLOUR, AND MATTER. 2004/2023

An exhibition held at Galerie Bernard in Montreal in 2004.

In this filmed visit, at first we see the works Details followed by Pages Details both from the long Transmission Series

The works Details in its horizontal development enhance still images, details in the details of long and multiple transmissions.

The works of Pages Details develop in its square form, here the details are seen more closely, an enlargement, creating a possible sequence and similarly calling to mind the first abstract films.

This is followed by a Presentation by Galerie Bernard Director the art critic Professor Gianguido Fucito.

Transcript of the oral presentation by professor Gianguido Fucito

.......We had a visit from Louise another artist who's exhibiting here with us and she was thrilled with all this non-graphology of yours, these screens, these layers, this matter emerging, like craters, they even look like skin pores, a big space.

No, it's interesting because so much it calls us back to life constantly. No, no the exhibition is very actual, the thing is when you see a painting two, yes okay we agree, but when you see a set of works let's say that practically cover the long line, the walls of the gallery and then you see all the work that has been done, you realize that the artist finally did the possible to penetrate himself and find in that himself the elements that contribute has presented him, but there are essential parts of what is the everyday reality, that is to live the colors.

In fact in the press release I mentioned the fact and also in the invitation cardboard, that finally it is a contemporary experience to look at the works of Eduardo Roda', of another way of looking at art, it is not the usual way.

They look like spaces that are minimized or even amplified in a macrocosmic way and that remind us of really tiny worlds, that hidden from the eyes, from the vision, from the hypothalamus, so we find in these, brought back to the surface of the elements that then adapt to today's technology.

The color palette is no longer the same as the one we know.

So all the tradition experienced even by artists like De Sanctis or the critic Benedetto Croce who talked about the work and colors of the time, we find them here in a rather television or video game dimension, which is much closer to what are the desires, the struggles,

the pleasures, the amusements of children.

So a work of art that somehow fits into what are the relationships with a toy that does not have a function of manipulation, but a function of manipulated vision.

The viewer by meeting both with the spaces, with the colors and with the material is able to reconstruct through these, a new world, which may belong to him and which he shares with the quality and ability of the artist,  thank you ……..
